On the Elite League Speedway calendar this week, Swindon and Kings Lynn will face off, with Swindon hosting at Abbey Stadium. The Swindon Robins have never won an Elite League Championship, but they were British League Champions in the past, although not since 1967. They did win the Elite League Pairs in 2004 and 2005 and were the Elite Shield Winners in 2008. As for the King's Lynn Team, they have been Elite League KO Cup Winners one time in 2000 and were Premier League Champs in 2006 and 2009.
Poole is the team that currently leads the standings, with 39 points. Swindon comes in second with 37 at the moment and then Lakeside takes the third place spot. Eastbourne is fourth and our other competitor this week, King's Lynn, is in fifth with 23 points. The sixth team on the table is Birmingham with 21 points at the moment and Peterborough takes seventh with nineteen points. Wolverhampton comes in at eighth right now with sixteen and then Coventry has twelve and ninth. Tenth is Belle Vue with just four.
