This week, the World Endurance Championships 2012 will hold the second to last event of the year, the Six Hours of Fiju, which happens in Japan starting the 12th of October. This event will start on the 12th with two free practice sessions, and then the qualifying and another practice happens on Saturday. The race will be held Sunday, the 13th at 11:00. The last event on the World Endurance Championships 2012 calender is the Six Hours of Shanghai, which is going to be held in China, and is the final event of the year. It starts October 28th.
The most recent endurance championship event was the Six Hours of Bahrain, which was held on September 29th. Marcel Fassler, Andre Lotterer and Benoit Treluyer with Audi R18 e-tron came in first in that event, followed by Tom Kristensen and Allan McNish. Nick Leventis, Danny Watts and Jonny Kane was third for HPD ARX. Andre Lotterer, Enoit Treluyer and Marcel Fassler also take the top spot in the standings with 139.5 points and then Allan McNish and Tom Kristensen come in at second with 126 points.

The World Endurance championships is just beginning the season, with the very first event of the year being the 24 Hours Of Le Mans, which was held in France. That race, held on June 17th kicked off the brand new season of endurance races for the year. The next event on the calender is going to be at the world famous circuit at Silverstone, August 24th, 25th and 26th, and it is called the Six Hours of Silverstone. Following the UK stop is the Six Hours of Sao Paulo in Brazil, and then Six Hours of Bahrain on September 29th.
Practice sessions for this race are held on Friday, August 24th, with the qualifying on Saturday. The race is Sunday, August 26th at 03:00. In the 24 Hours of Le Mans, it was Marcel Fassler, Andre Lotterer and Benoit Treluyer who were out front for the LMP1. In second were Dindo Capello, Tom Kirstensen and Allan McNish. Third place was taken by Marco Bonamoni, Oliver Jarvis and Mike Rockenfeller. In the current standings, Alan McNish will take the top spot followed by Dindo Capello. The third driver that is tied for first place is Tom Kristensen.

The next event on the World Endurance Championships calender is the six hours of Spa-Francorchamps, which happens on May 5th. This will be the second event of the season for the World Endurance Championships and there are still five more events to go before the season ends. The very next event that is coming up is the world famous 24 hours of Le Mans, which happens this year on the 16th and 17th of June. Silverstone will be the venue after that one, happening on August 26th and then the series will make stops in Brazil, Bahrain and Fuji.
This race started as a 1000 kilometer event but increased to six hours.
