The season will open on the Aussie V8 Supercars Championship this week, with the very first race of the year being held from the 28th of February to the 3rd of March. This will be the very first officially race, although participants have already hit the track for the first two tests of the season a couple of weeks ago. Those results in a moment. The next event on the V8 Supercars calender is going to be the Australian Grand Prix, which is from March 14th to the 17th and then we jump all the way to April 5th through the 7th for the Tasmania 360.
As for the two tests that were held in February, the first was held on Saturday, February 16th at 09:00. It was won by Team Holden basically. The top driver was driving a Holden for Team BOC, Jason Bright, and then Holden makes were in the second and third spot, as well as fifth, sixth, seventh, eighth and ninth. Fabian Coulthard was in second with James Courtney in third. The second race was held at 15:30 and looked very much like the first, with Jason Bright in first and Fabian Coulthard in second. Craig Lowndes was in third place.

On the Aussie V8 Supercars Series this week, the fifteenth and final race of the year, which will be the Sydney Testra 500. It will be held from the 30th of November to the 3rd of December with many other events already played. Some of the more recent races include the 3rd through the 6th of August Coates Hire Ipswich 300 and then there was the Dick Smith Sandown 500, from September 14th to the 17th. The most recent events were the Abu Dhabi race November 2nd to the 5th and the Winton Motor Raceway from November 16th to the 19th.
The top driver right now is Jamie Whincup with 3,750 points followed by Craig Lowndes in the number two spot. Mark Winterbottom will take the third spot right now with 3406 points and then Will Davison and Tim Slade will be the fourth and fifth drivers on the rankings with 2899 points and 2670 points. In number sixth right now is Shane Van Gisbergen and then the number seven placed driver is Garth Tander. Right now, the driver in the number eight spot is Lee Holdsworth and then David Reynolds and James Courtney are ninth and tenth.
