The Formula One Championship returns for another great season with the very first race in Melbourne, Australia. The Australian Grand Prix is going to be held March 16th, 17th and 18th, and will kick the Formula One season off. The 2012 season is certainly going to be a unique and special one, with a quarter of the drivers on the grid having held the title at one time or another, making this one of the most exciting seasons yet. The next race on the calendar will be the Malaysian Grand Prix, held from March 24th to the 26th in Kuala Lumpur.
Last year, the series begin with the Australian Grand Prix on March 27th. Sebastian Vettel with Red Bull Racing was the driver who came out on top in that race and he went on to take the next race – the Malaysian Grand Prix – as well. The China Grand Prix was won by Lewis Hamilton of Mclaren, and then Sebastian Vettel took two more. Jenson Button won the Canadian Grand Prix and after another win by Vettel, Fernando Alonso took the British Grand Prix. Mark Webber's lone win was the final race – the Brazilian Grand Prix on November 27th.

Mark Webber from Australia took third with 258 points and Fernando Alonso came in fourth. The fifth placed driver was Lewis Hamilton with McLaren-Mercedes. As for the teams, Red Bull Racing Renault took first with 650 points, with McLaren in second and Ferrari in third.
