Now, those who follow the race with technology have the opportunity to download the free lite version of the Formula One Timing and Track Positioning App. Users can get the Smartphone App from the iTunes Store and via the Android Marketplace and have the option to upgrade to the full version of the App if they wish, which gives the user a lot more features to use the follow the race than just the free, lite version of the product.

Some of the free version features of the Application include notification of Formula One news so you will be the first to get it. News comes right on your home screen if you wish. Also, session results are available on your smart phone as soon as they are received from Race Control. You'll also get a countdown to events that are coming up as well as the ability to set up your own notifications. Of course, you will get the entire race calendar on your smartphone and a huge database of information about Formula One, the teams and drivers.
